He was buried on Saturday, 24 September 1960 at Prospect Cemetery, Section 15, Lot 112, Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada, and the next of kin was Jack Gillard (son) 14 Ardagh Street.. After a conversation with Donna Read, Normal, Illinois, Evelyn Gillard's daughter, it was determined that George Harold Gillard's first wife (and mother of his children) died in the great flu epidemic of 1918. Donna remembers her as being called Tilley but not much else.
