George Harold Gillard

George Harold Gillard was born circa 1885 at Ontario, Canada. George and Ada (?) Gillard were married. George and Matilda Carmoody, daughter of Byron Carmoody and Matilda LaBallister, were married by Reverend William Patterson on Wednesday, 25 April 1923 at Cookes Presbyterian Church, Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada. They are both recorded as being widowed, although no death registration has been found for Herman Miller. His occupation was Salesman, residence 528 Manning Ave. Her occupation was Druggist, residence 665 Manning Ave. Samuel Heatrick and Frances Heatrick witnessed the marriage. George died on Wednesday, 21 September 1960 at home, 12 Ardagh Street, Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada, of Pulmonary Oedema. He was buried on Saturday, 24 September 1960 at Prospect Cemetery, Section 15, Lot 112, Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada, and the next of kin was Jack Gillard (son) 14 Ardagh Street.. After a conversation with Donna Read, Normal, Illinois, Evelyn Gillard's daughter, it was determined that George Harold Gillard's first wife (and mother of his children) died in the great flu epidemic of 1918. Donna remembers her as being called Tilley but not much else.
