Charles Harrison Gibbons

Charles Harrison Gibbons was born on Sunday, 9 May 1869 at St. Thomas, Elgin Co., Ontario, Canada. Charles and Agnes Sarah Coleman were married on Thursday, 7 August 1890 at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He was a journalist and novelist. In 1923 he published the book, A Sourdough Samaritan, and dedicated it to Lillian Peacock. Perhaps they were already living together, or at the least, having an affair. An image of the dedication can be found here. Agnes Sarah Gibbons petitioned for divorce from Charles Harrison Gibbons on 22 January 1926 at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Lillian Peacock was listed as Co-respondant. The last entry was filed February 23, 1926. Charles and Ella Lillian Peacock, daughter of George Augustus Peacock and Mary Tarr, were married. Or living in a common law situation. When she died, Lillian was using the Gibbons surname. Charles died on Tuesday, 10 March 1931 at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, at age 61 years, 10 months and 1 day. He was buried at the Royal Oak Burial Park, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
